Airplane reading is one of my very favorite things (following beach reading!) and our flight to Japan offered the perfect opportunity for me to catch up on a few books that have been on my radar. The first book I picked up? Stephanie Clifford‘s debut novel, Everybody Rise, which made a huge splash when it was released last month.
Everybody Rise tells the story of 26-year old New Yorker Evelyn Beegan who becomes obsessed with fitting in amongst the Upper East Side crowd and embraces an extreme “fake it til you make it” strategy to become an it-girl within the social scene. It’s a quick, light-hearted read that will have you invested in each character and anxious to see what Evelyn will do next and just when her secrets will be revealed as she digs herself deeper and deeper with each stretch of the imagination and credit card swipe. Everybody Rise reminded me a bit of Gossip Girl’s Jenny and the struggles to fit in in a world where not belonging to a known family instantly makes you an outsider.
If you’re looking for a fun vacation read, Everybody Rise is the perfect book to pick up and bring along – it’ll suck you in and you’ll be eager to cruise through each chapter to see what Evelyn is up to next.
To celebrate the release of Everybody Rise, we’re giving away a copy of the book PLUS a $50 BaubleBar gift card (bling, anyone?!) To enter:
Good luck! The giveaway will be open until Monday, September 21 and a winner will be notified immediately.
NOTE: I received an advanced copy of Everybody Rise to review but all opinions are 100% honest and my own!
